Gary

I am Ran Dotson of DotShot Media. I helped to co-found this company on the belief that we are all capable of being better versions of ourselves. Sometimes we need help in doing that. Every one of us has and may struggle at times on our journey. What I do here is to help you stay committed to your goals. Your path may need rerouting, but your goals are still there for you. I am here to help you continue to move forward towards that destination. I have supervised and managed groups of people in the trucking industry for over 20 years. While doing this I have had the opportunity to cross paths with different philosophies, strategies, and mindsets. These have helped me in my continued search to become the best version of my self. What I have learned, I am here to share. Knowledge is not something you hoard. Without others sharing with me, I would not be who I am today. My goal in life is to be the help to someone that others have been to me. I will do this by helping you connect the dots of your experiences to build a better understanding of yourself.

This has led me to live outside of what I consider my comfort zone. I run and take part in O.C.R.s. I like to work on my physical conditioning to maintain the ability to participate in these types of events. This has helped me to maintain a clear picture of setting and reaching goals. I want to do the same for you.

I am Gary Hendershot of Dotshot Media. My interest in co-founding this company is to provide and teach critical examinations of one's thoughts and actions. I have always had an interest in the social interactions of people - how we think and act towards each other. This led my gain of a degree from FSU in social science. It has been a part of my life; from service oriented jobs, to military service and continues as a business owner. Working with and helping others is a passion of mine. I have found a foundation of faith in God lights my path and increases my ability to reach outside of myself to seek further improvement and ignites a desire to share my knowledge and experience with others.

Life can twist when you expect a turn and sometimes dead end when you expect an open meadow to run in. Breakthroughs are always present and are most often part of the thingyou are experiencing that is causing discomfort. Using my knowledge and life experience to encourage people in pusuit of their goals. Helping others to connect the dots and take the shots is my focus.

This philosophy has given me the ability to push myself well beyond my comfort zone. Running multiple marathons, free diving, sailing, and fishing are things that I enjoy. Some take a bit more perseverance than others. I create plans and work hard to make sure that I reach the goals I set for myself and will do the same for you.

When?

It should start the moment you realize that you want something new, different, or better for your life. Life is a journey of self. You may have an excellent support staff, but even they cannot do your work for you. Whether your life is focused spiritually, physically, mentally, or financially. Each path starts and ends with you. Sounds elementary, correct? So, why do so many of us struggle to get down these paths? The answer to that question for everyone is self. We have to get out of our own way most times to get to where we are going.

Why?

Why can it be difficult to get from A to Z? Most of the time, we do not know what we want, let alone how to get it. Other times, we just accept what is right in front of us. We do this because the not knowing causes us hesitation or fear. To accept only what we know and what we believe we think we know. This is commonly referred to as our “comfort zone”. Many thought processes have been written on the mentality of comfort zones. One factor that they all have in common is fear. We should always address what we do not know.

How?

Addressing the unknowns on our paths to being the best versions of ourselves will happen quickly, slowly, and somewhere in between for each of us. It will happen differently for different people. Yes, it would be great if there was a one and done, but that magic one size fits all solution does not exist. It happens through work. Doing the very things that you say you want to do or that you do not want to do. You may also need to do those things again and again. Things that cause you discomfort, uneasiness, pain, and can just be absolutely boring. But the only way to get from where you are to where you want to be is….. work.
